Stephanie Westhelle

Stephanie Westhelle is the strategic program advisor at the George Washington University International Institute of Tourism Studies. She leads IITS' professional certificate programs in destination management, event management, and cultural heritage tourism, while actively cultivating strategic alliances with organizations around the globe.
Stephanie's 15 years of experience in tourism and nonprofit management have made her a leader in sustainable, regenerative, and resilient strategies. Her work with organizations like the San Diego Zoo Wildlife Alliance, Fairtrade International, and Starwood Hotels and Resorts has resulted in strategic insights, operational efficiencies, and positive outcomes for people, planet, and profit.
Stephanie holds a Master of Tourism Administration from George Washington University and is an alumnus of the UN's UNLEASH Global Innovation Lab. Her academic background and global experience equip her to navigate the complexities of sustainable tourism and drive meaningful change.
